EBAC accreditation

What is EBAC accreditation/ Why apply for EBAC accreditation?

What is EBAC Accreditation?

EBAC accreditation is the assessment of a CME programme's scientific quality by a board of experts.
A number of CME credits is allocated to each programme and participating physicians can collect them by obtaining an EBAC certificate.
EBAC reviews international CME activities in cardiology.

Accreditation is a service to the medical community. By awarding the accreditation, EBAC certifies that:

the CME activity has a high quality scientific content, is free of commercial bias and has the appropriate didactic approach.

the CME Provider and its educational programme do fulfill the EBAC quality requirements

EBAC accredits two types of educational programmes : events and distance learning (CD ROMs, Internet courses, CME Articles)

Why apply for EBAC accreditation?

There are several reasons for applying for EBAC accreditation.

The accredited CME activity distinguishes itself from other educational activities proposed to the medical audience by the fact that its quality has been confirmed by a Board of specialists widely recognized in the field of cardiology.

Many European countries are already running CME systems for physicians, some of which are obligatory. Doctors often prefer to attend accredited meetings and then use the "earned " CME credits while reporting to their accreditation Authority.
