Update on the accreditation of Distance Learning Programmes - November 2003

The 12-month pilot project for the accreditation of distance learning educational activities, launched in September 2002 has turned into a real success : as of today 20 educational web modules and 2 CD ROMS have been accredited by EBAC (see the section "Accredited Programmes" for details). Physicians can now learn at their own pace and gain CME credits on-line, by completing a multiple choice questionnaire assessing their understanding of the course material.

This probatory period of Distance Learning has also enabled EBAC to simplify and finalise the accreditation policy and process which final version is now available in the "Documents Library" section of our website.

In an effort to always offer a wider range of accredited educational activities EBAC is now preparing a pilot project for the accreditation of CME articles in scientific journals. More information will be soon available, so please check the EBAC website regularly.
